The Shun Kanso 7″ Asian Utility Knife may look like a meat cleaver, but it is so much more! Every part of this utility knife is usable – from smashing a garlic with the flat, to tenderizing meat with the back or making quick work slicing up of mounds of veggies and meats for your stir fry with its extra sharp, long straight edge.

The Kanso line of Shun knives was designed based on Zen philosophy, and its name means “simplicity.” Shun took only the most essential elements of a knife – high-performance steel, razor-sharp edge, perfect balance and precision cutting control – and created a simple line of knives that provides simply perfect performance. The Tagayasan hard wood handle is contoured for the chef’s grip and precision cutting. Tagayasan, known as “iron sword wood,” was traditionally used in crafting Samurai sword handles. This wood is naturally dense, durable and beautiful.
